Weight Loss Tip
Weight Loss Tip:It can be a challenge to maintain a healthy weight particularly when there are so many tasty food options available. The mainstay of weight control should be regular exercise and a healthy eating plan, but what if the spices you used to add a little variety to your healthy diet also promoted weight loss? Those weight loss spices may be a reality according to some medical studies. Although the use of weight loss spices won’t substitute for a healthy diet, they could be one more weapon in your weight loss arsenal. What are some spices that may help to promote weight loss?
Weight loss spices: Curry Curry isn’t a single spice. It’s a combination of a group of spices which usually includes ginger, tumeric, and cumin. While the individual spices in curry have been found to each have health benefits of their own, they seem to be an even greater force when in combination, at least when it comes to weight loss. Researchers at the University of Maastricht in the Netherlands explored the weight loss potential of this group of spices. Although each of the spices had some effect on weight loss when used alone, the combination of the three spices in curry resulted in greater weight loss than when each was used individually. Why do the spices in curry boost weight loss potential? It’s thought that foods seasoned with these spices may cause you to get full more quickly or they could exert their effects by boosting the rate at which the body burns fat. Weight loss spices: Cinnamon This spice is thought to boost weight loss by promoting healthier processing of carbohydrates by the body. Because of this effect, it may help to prevent the metabolic syndrome often seen in pre-diabetics. It doesn’t take a large amount of cinnamon to get positive benefits. Studies suggest that a teaspoon added to your cereal each morning is sufficient. Cinnamon shouldn’t be used in high doses since it contains a chemical called coumin which can cause liver toxicity when consumed in large amounts. Cayenne pepper Cayenne pepper is believed to slightly boost the rate at which fat is burned by the body. The active ingredient, known as capsaicin, is being studied for its potential fat burning capabilities. Although studies are still ongoing, it appears promising. The other reason cayenne pepper may promote weight loss is because it’s difficult to overindulge in hot, spicy foods. Chili pepper seems to have a similar effect metabolic boosting effect as does black pepper. Weight Loss Tip: If you want to melt off those excess pounds, it may be time to add a little spice to your life. Don’t count on dramatic weight loss by using weight loss spices alone but they may add an extra boost to your healthy eating plan. Back to top of Weight Loss Tip
