Christian Home Based Business Ideas - Find The Right One For You

Setting up a Christian home based business

Dear Women Over 40,

This information about setting up a Christian home based business is from Katie-Anne who is a successful work at home mom:

"There are many types of home based businesses. As the entrepreneurial bug bites deeper into our global culture, more and more people are being able to either transition completely into a work at home business, or are increasing their household's income by running some form of business, whether it is a direct sales franchise for a major company, or investing their own capital in a venture that they believe will lead them if not to making a fortune, then at least to financial freedom.

One of the first questions anyone thinking about becoming a home based business owner asks is, "what kind of business should I run?". The answer to that lies within your own set of skills and beliefs.

For example, if you are a whiz at computers, and terrible at sales, then you want to look more towards service orientated business ideas rather than those businesses which would require you to sell in order to make any money.

After honestly assessing your personality, you decide that you would like to be involved with some kind of Christian home based business, how do you then find what kind of business you could run?

Virtually any kind of business can be run from home. So what interests you?

As a Christian home based business, providing a service to help others might be what interests you the most. You could consider running a daycare center for preschoolers for example.

Other examples might include private tuition for students who need a bit of extra help; an after school homework club where you provide a room, a table, some supplies and snacks, and a bit of support whilst the students complete their homework waiting for their parents returning from work; how about setting up a shopping business for the elderly of your parish or a cleaning one, for those who are not as agile as they used to be?

Being a Christian business doesn't mean you have to provide your services for free, but note that if you advertise yourself as a Christian business, there are those who will expect your profit margin (and therefore prices) to be lower than someone who provides the same service but doesn't mention a religious connection.

If you want to run a sales franchise as a Christian business, you could consider selling something that is either benefiting a third world nation, or the environment by promoting products connected to this. You could also offer a small percentage of your sales money back to your church for it's work within the community.

As with all home businesses, there are endless possibilities for anyone who wants to own a Christian home based business, and these are only limited by your own skill-set, your other commitments (especially in the case of mothers who wish to work from home), and the physical limitations of your home.

Be honest about who you are, what you are capable of, what space you have available - and also consider what kind of sales or service is lacking within your community when deciding which business idea to follow through on; then put in the hard work promoting your business, and you should find that you are running a successful business in no time at all."

Thanks Katie-Anne!
