I graduated from nursing school in 1977, with a Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing with honors. My mother was a nurse and I followed in her footsteps.

As a child I would ask her about her day and the types of sick people she took care of. She taught me how to take blood pressures at age 10, starting with my grandmother who had hypertension. I would read her medical dictionary and familiarized myself with the terminology.

In high school I took four years of Latin to prepare for nursing. Needless to say, my dedication and commitment to nursing the sick and infirm began early. It continues today.

WomenOver40Health allows me to reach out to a greater number of people in need of reliable, well-researched, up-to-date information about their health and wellness issues, from the nurse’s point of view.

Please keep in mind that nurses can never diagnose a condition. You must refer to a physician for that. Therefore, my goal is to help interpret medical information for you, in easy to understand language.
